#repost (2014) The Best-Dressed-Woman at 64th Indonesia's National Movie Day is....

Atiqah Hasiholan! Yeah! The Java Heat star has definitely won red carpet session and signed off with a beautiful strapless gown, and paired this with a pack of gold accessories: a statement necklace, armband jewellery, bracelet, and a little (yet simple) clutch. Her look maybe inspired by one of traditional outfit that worn by Indonesian women, but she looked every inch the movie star while she walked in to the Djakarta Theater that night. She looked stunning with an ethnic look that really matched with the tagline of 64th annual National Movies Day "Bangga Film Indonesia" ("Proud with Indonesian Movie"). I just can't stop staring at her look which is very GORGEOUS!
But her make up is still looked simple with (just) a fresh look. Why she didn't make it to be more glamor with a bit of gold (and shiny) make up? I don't know whether it was because of the photographer didn't took the photo well-enough or she maybe 'accidentally' want to look more simple with a fresh look to that event because she knew that her dress would steal all eyes that night.

Well, we don't know yet but I know that she really became the cynosure that night (even I still can't take my eyes off her when I post this!).

Who's agree with me?

April Pop Park at Lippo Mall Kemang (2014)

Coincidence.

Hari Sabtu lalu, gue iseng jalan-jalan lucu ke Lippo Mall Kemang buat nonton film Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Fyi, padahal mall ini lokasinya super deket sama rumah, tapi gue malah jarang banget ke sini.
Well ya overall filmnya sih bagus. Tapi BAGUS aja, just that. Dalam arti, bukan berarti filmnya biasa aja. Bukan.

Anyway, selesai nonton, kita pun keluar buat cari makan.

Sesuai namanya April Pop Park, udah pasti bentuknya emang kayak taman.

Hore!
Ternyata, dia lagi bikin semacam sayembara: Spread The Fun!

Akhirnya, gue pun ikutan sayembara fotonya. Berhubung emang gue datengnya kemaleman, dan mereka udah berencana untuk beres-beres buat besok, jadi ya fotonya buru-buru. Hehe

who doesn't want some macarons grows and blooms in your own garden?

I do really want to have this in my garden!
wooden cart

Setelah itu, gue pun beralih ke The Swings alias si Ayunan. Setelah nyari sana-sini, ternyata ayunannya roboh. Huff, I feel so unlucky!
The Fallen Swing

The Swing

some flowers with sweets

Pengen banget rasanya ambil semua tapi ya kali. 2 aja cukup lah. Hahaha
pink and white tulips

April 21st: Happy Kartini Day! (2014 #repost)

Selamat Hari Kartini!

Tahun 2013 lalu, majalah Forbes merilis “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Woman in 2013”
Forbes: The World’s 100 Most Powerful Woman in 2013 | Top 10

The Frozen Theory (And The Detail It Misses)

Well, here's again another repost. I just too excited when I read this article and can't hold to share it again. :)

Recently, an imaginative redditor after my own heart proposed a theory that connected the worlds of Frozen and Tangled.
Of course the internet leapt to action and many voices joined the discussion, offering details that might prove Tangled shares a world with Frozen (or giving their dissenting opinions that the whole Frozen Theory is nonsense).
Below I have compiled what I think are the best pieces of ‘evidence’ raised in support of the theory, as well as one key detail that I believe changes everything.
But first, the theory:

The Frozen Theory

It didn’t take long after the release of Frozen for the internet to spot a certain cameo during the song ‘For The First Time In Forever’.

Rapunzel In Frozen
Princess Anna runs out to meet Flynn Rider and Rapunzel.
In this screenshot from early on in the film, we see Flynn Rider and Rapunzel attending the rare event of Arendelle opening its gates.

Judging by Rapunzel’s hair colour and style, we can see that this is set after Tangled because that film ends with Rapunzel cutting off her golden locks.

End Of Tangled
Flynn Rider and Rapunzel as they appear at the end of Tangled.
This is not the only proof that Frozen is set after Tangled. In fact, we know exactly how much time has passed between them.
You see, in Frozen, Anna and Elsa’s parents board an ill-fated ship that sadly never returns.

Sinking Ship
The moving scene of the King and Queen’s demise.
We are then told that three years have passed since the ship sank. This is when the main plot of Frozen takes place. Three years later.
It is, of course, no accident that Frozen was released three years (almost to the day) after Tangled.

The shared '7.9' score is a conspiracy theory for another day.
The shared ’7.9′ score is a conspiracy theory for another day.
Because Anna and Elsa’s parents died on their way to Rapunzel and Flynn Rider’s wedding.

How do we know this?

Well, in the Disney Theory I point out that the King and the Grand Duke appearing at the wedding in The Little Mermaid isn’t too surprising as many European dignitaries would likely be invited to a European royal wedding.
But Anna and Elsa’s parents were not just invited because they were royalty. They were invited because one of them was related to Rapunzel.
The Queen (left) from Tangled and her brother, the King (right) from Frozen.
The Queen from Tangled and her brother, the King from Frozen
The family resemblance between Tangled‘s Queen and Frozen‘s King is striking, and it also makes sense given the setting of the films that a Norwegian princess (the Frozen animators have acknowledged Norway is the film’s setting) would end up married to a German king (‘Rapunzel’ was written by German authors, The Brothers Grimm).

It also explains Elsa’s magical abilities, and why her father was so adamant that she hide them. Clearly the blonde daughters of this royal family are born with magical abilities. (When Rapunzel cuts her hair it turns brown like her mother’s and she loses her magic. Unlike her sister, Elsa, Frozen‘s Anna is a redhead and never shows any magical ability.)

Having seen his magical niece kidnapped by a jealous witch, it’s obvious that Elsa’s father wouldn’t want anybody to know about his daughter’s powers.

‘Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let it show.’
This is why he teaches his daughter to hide her abilities, and later decides not to bring her to her cousin’s wedding for fear she might reveal them. Poor Anna was then also left so Elsa’s absence wasn’t so suspicious.

It Goes Deeper

Like all great conspiracies, the Frozen theory doesn’t stop at the easy connections. Not content to link just Frozen and Tangled, the threads stretch even further to connect to another Disney fairy tale that also shares an author with Frozen.

Because the sunken ship of Elsa’s parents has appeared in a Disney movie before.
It’s the wreck that Ariel explores in The Little Mermaid.

rs_560x207-140320143121-frozentangled7

Different, yes, but years underwater will do that to a wreck.

OK, so cynics might point out that this could be just about any ship. So let’s bring in some geography to explain the crazy.
You see, to travel from Frozen‘s frozen Norway to Tangled‘s Germany, you have to sail past Denmark.

rs_560x415-140320143121-frozentangledmap

Denmark is of course the home of Copenhagen’s  ’Little Mermaid’ statue and is the birthplace of Hans Christian Anderson, who wrote both ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘The Snow Queen’, which is the fairy tale Frozen is based on.

If the ship sank between Norway and Germany it would be lost somewhere in the North Sea that Ariel calls her home. That’s how it appears in The Little Mermaid, after years of degradation. And so ends the Frozen Theory.

Except…

In the Disney Theory I used a certain scene from Tangled to support my theory.

See that book on the right?

See that book on the right?
This scene shows three Disney films that clearly exist as fairy tale books in the world of Tangled. In the top left we see Sleeping Beauty, below that is Beauty and the Beast, and over on the right…

The iconic image of The Little Mermaid.
The iconic image of The Little Mermaid
So, the question: how can Ariel find the ship from Frozen if it exists as just a fairy tale in the connected world of Tangled?
The simple (and boring) answer would be that it doesn’t.

But What If It Does?

In the conclusion to Disney Theory I argue that the fairy tales and recurring characters of the Disneyverse are archetypes in a grand repeating narrative of ‘daughters who dream of freedom, parents who die tragically and evil relatives who seek to control them’ (written before Frozen‘s release but still fairly accurate). Like a computer trying to solve  some cosmic puzzle, the Disney universe keep taking the same pieces and combining them in different ways in an attempt to find some great answers.
So maybe Ariel doesn’t find Elsa’s parent’s ship. Maybe the ship belongs to some other ill-fated Disney parents. Maybe the ‘Little Mermaid’ book in Tangled isn’t the simply story of Ariel’s life but is one of the many pre-defined narratives that a princess’ life can follow in this repeating Disney universe.

Maybe we’re looking in the wrong place for answers

The True Identity of Andy’s Mom In “Toy Story” Will Blow Your Mind

At first, I would like you to know that it is a repost. (2014)

Last fall, Jon Negroni advanced Grand Unified Theory of Pixar, showing how all 14 feature films fit together in a single animated universe. Now he has another surprising theory, this time about the Toy Story movies. Slightly different versions of both posts first appeared on Negroni's own site. They are reprinted with his permission.

It all started with a hat.

Several months ago, one of my anonymous Pixar Theory Interns (that’s a thing on a resume) came to me with a crazy proposition: Andy’s mom is Emily, Jessie’s previous owner.
I laughed. I then agreed.
For some time, I compiled all of the evidence and found some incredible support for this theory. For one thing, take a close look at Andy’s cowboy hat he frequently wears in the movies:

Andy's Hat

Here’s another close look:

Andy's Hat

As you can see, Andy’s hat is noticeably different from Woody’s. Why is this? Why wouldn’t Andy want to wear a hat that closely resembles the one worn by his favorite toy?
It’s no secret that Andy has a close connection with Woody. In Toy Story 2, his mom (who we only know as Ms. Davis) mentions that Woody is an old family toy.
Remember that Woody doesn’t even recall that he is a collector’s item – a toy made in the 1950s. This is a deviation from other toys who know full well where they come from. It’s possible that Woody doesn’t know because he’s been in Andy’s family for a long time, possibly belonging to his father.

But we need more evidence. Take a close look at Jessie’s hat:

Andy's Hat

Ah, this hat looks familiar. It’s the same red hat with white lace that Andy wears. The only difference is that Jessie’s hat has a white lace around the center. But look at Andy’s hat again.

Andy's Hat

There’s a faded mark where the white lace should be. Why do you think that is? And what does Jessie have to do with this?
(Bob Saget’s voice) Kids, you remember the story of Jessie. Her owner Emily grew up with her, much the same way as Andy. She was incredibly loved, but Emily eventually gave her away when she grew older. Jessie ended up in storage for a long time, as confirmed by her in the movie when she has a literal panic attack over having to go back.

Now, take a close look at what’s on this bed in Emily’s room:

Andy's Hat

That is a hat that looks extremely similar to, you guessed it, Andy’s. The room is also pretty old-fashioned, leaving room for this to take place years before Andy was born.

In fact, you can clearly tell that this isn’t modern day with shots like these:

Andy's Hat

The only difference between the hat that Emily wears throughout this sequence and Andy’s hat is an extra white lace around the center, which is visibly missing from Andy’s hat. Otherwise, the hats are identical.
Also, in the donation box that Emily puts Jessie in, we don’t see the hat. We do see other remnants of her connection with Jessie, but the hat is noticeably absent. The box isn’t even big enough to hold it. So Emily held onto that hat…and maybe passed it on to her child, who would grow to also love a cowboy doll.
We never get a closeup of Emily’s face, but we do see that she has light, auburn hair as a teenager. Also, it is very short.

Compared to:

500full
The middle picture is closest to the strawberry blonde color we see when Emily is young. It’s perfectly reasonable to assume that her hair lightened as she aged, which is clearly the case in these photos (or she could have dyed it).

Here’s what we know for sure:

We don’t know the first name of Andy’s mom. We don’t know Emily’s last name. We know that Andy’s hat and Emily’s hat are the same. We know that Emily is old enough to be Andy’s mom. We definitely know that Pixar is perfectly capable of sneaking this in without being overt about it.
You may be wondering how the two characters could be the same if Emily was willing to give Jessie up so easily, while Andy was far more hesitant.
Actually, the scenarios are quite similar. Andy forgot about Woody as he grew up too, despite their strong connection. Andy even gave Woody away, albeit in a different manner than Emily.
In the end, it makes perfect sense that these two concurrent stories are so similar because they’re related by blood. It’s also a freak of destiny that Jessie would one day belong to her owner’s son, though we never get to see the mom’s reaction to seeing Jessie again.
She was probably indifferent and believed it to be a different version of the same toy. How would you respond if you saw your child with a toy that looked like one that you had as a kid? Your first assumption probably wouldn’t be that they’re the exact same toy.

Well, what do you think?
I don't know about you, but I am so excited when I read this article. I never pay to much attention to see some little details in that movies. I just enjoy the story. Thanks to Jon Negroni. Because of him, now we can have another story to talked about after this movie ended. Hahaha

Pizza Cone

Repost from my previous blog.

A few weeks ago (2014), my sister, my mom, and me were go to Kuningan. It's a district in South Jakarta that known as a business district and part of Golden Triangle of Jakarta. It's include some popular streets like Rasuna Said, Gatot SubrotoMH Thamrin, and Sudirman. It's also known for SCBD (Sudirman Central Business District), which has The Ritz Carlton Hotel, a popular (and luxurious) mall: Pacific Place, and some other popular place.
Anyway, that's not the main reason why I go there. Kuningan has lots of mall (yeah!), like Kota Kasablanka, Kuningan City, Epicentrum, Lotte Shopping Avenue, Mall Ambassador, etc.
Since my only netbook has got some error issues, so I go to Acer Centre and Acer Store in Mall Ambassador.
After waiting for a few hours, finally my netbook was NOT REPAIRED. Yes, because the technician can't found the problem. Grr!
Well, so to ended that day with happiness, I ask my mom and sister to go and find nice place for lunch. But, when we go to food court in Mall Ambassador, it's too crowded and too noisy (eww!). So three of us decided to go out and go to Food Avenue in Lotte Shopping Avenue.

My sister with a big smile and 2 Pizza Cone in her hands
After each of us finished our Beef Bowl in Yoshinoya (slurp!), we decided to go for window shopping at there. But just few steps from Yoshinoya, tada! we found Classic Pizza Cone!

Seriously, to be honest, I didn't know that this kind of food was exist (haha!) and have invented by someone. My first impression when I saw it, is unique. How come a pizza can be eaten in a shape of a cone?
Then I go to the waiter with full of confident like I have knew it before. I saw the display, it's only has 8 flavors: Frankfurter, Pepperoni, Classic Chicken, Classic Beef, Beef Blackpepper, Smoked Chicken, Cheesy Cheese, and Creamy Corn.

Because we were too curious to wait for another time (and another day) to go here again and try it (since we have full enough after lunch at Yoshinoya), we decided to order! Not just one, but two! Haha!

My sister who was too curious to see the making of Pizza Cone
We ordered for Beef Blackpepper (for me) and Pepperoni (for my sister). They served it in a cone-shaped pack. I'm sorry I forgot how was the making of the Pizza Cone. I was too curious and forgot to take a picture of it.

Then, how about its taste?
Well, good enough for me. Really taste like a pizza, but the cone is a bit hard to bite. And yes, my stomach feel so full. So for the next, I think I won't try it as a snack.
Since I just have tried 2 flavor, I think I do prefer Pepperoni than Beef Blackpepper.

Beef Blackpepper (left) and Pepperoni (right)
After this, I became realized that there are still many other unique and new invention of foods out there that I have not discover yet. I think I will start my food-journey from here. Haha

Sate Maranggi

:)

Pasar Kue Subuh Blok M

Blok M.
(He?)

:)
